How to make Arnica cream for bruises

Recover Easy Arnica Recipe

I came up with this recipe because I started pole fitness dancing and after class my body was covered in bruises and my muscles were sore and achy. You'll find that once you've made this batch your partner will want to try it, which of course is good reason to swap massages.

You'll find most of the ingredients at your local whole-foods store or on line. Once you've got all the ingredients together the prep time in 15-20 minutes with the cooling-down-phase anywhere between 3hrs - 8hrs. Let it cool down over night and it will be ready for you the following day.

Ingredients you'll need

  • 100mls Arnica infused oil
  • 100mls St Johns Wort oil
  • Shea butter
  • Coconut oil
  • Bees wax or Candelilla wax for a vegan option
  • 200mls Helichrysum Hydrosol water - Or Lavender, Comfrey, Rosemary
  • 60 drop of Lavender essential oil - Or Rosemary, Ginger, Comfrey
  • 2 X 250ml jars to store (make sure you've sterilised them
  • Stove top
  • Double boiler
  • Spatular

The Mixing Process

Your going to love the easy precess of this cream, once you make this you'll find other ways to express this recipe. The longest phase will be the patience for it to cold down before you can use it. But once that wait is over, you'll be using it every chance you get and so will your partner.

There are 5 phases, melt, pour, blend, add and wait...

5 Phases

  1. Melt in a double boiler on low simmer - Bees wax, shea butter, coconut oil, Arnica, & St Johns wort oil, make sure that they all melted through and mixed together
  2. Pour into mixer/blender and wait for it to slightly set, you'll notice the edges of the mixture start to turn a cloudy colour.
  3. Pour the Hydrosole water in a little bit at a time, blend, pour, blend, pour, blend until all the water is mixed in with the oils and waxes
  4. Add your essential oils, blend again
  5. Pour your mixture into your jars and wait

1. Melting Oils & Waxes

2. Pour & wait for mixture to become cloudy

3. Blend Oils,waxes & water

4. Add Essential Oil & Blend

5. Pour & Wait

You'll love that this mixture doesn't leave an oily residue and makes you skin feel soft and smooth to touch.

You'll notice because of the wax and shea butter that your skin tone will even out and take on a younger appearance. I've found that the stretch-marks on my upper thighs are looking more evened out, almost like fading the appearance.

I don't mind that I have stretch marks and didn't make this cream to get rid of them, it just so happens the by-product of this recipe has added them a little.

Give it a go and try for your self, but best of all my muscles don't ache like they used to which is a plus because it makes moving around so much easier and happier.

Let me know how you go with this recipe, I'd love to hear about them in the comments below.
